Aim:  How is conversation an art and how can the skill be developed?

 Do Now:  What makes a good conversation?

1)  Slide 1B  What do you think it means to “be present” during a conversation?
b)  What three points are most important to you?  Why?
2)  Slide 2:  Do you prefer talking or listening in a conversation?  Why?
b)  How do you feel when the other is not hearing you?
3)  Slide 4:  If you disagree with something,  on a scale of 1-10,  (10 =
you have to),  do you have to make your point known?
b)  J.A.D.E.   I do not have to justify,  argue, defend or explain
myself.  Have you ever used J.A.D.E. in a conversation? Why?
4)  Slide 6:  Which type of conversation do you enjoy most?  Why?
5)  Slide 10:  What inference can you make from slide 10?
6)  Slide 11:  How would you explain the relationship of friendship to
talking or not talking when together?
7)  Slide 12:  Choose two questions that would facilitate a good conversation.   a) Why do you like those questions,  and
b)  answer the two questions you chose.
